Industry:
Mobiles and Wireless
Technology: J2ME, BREW
2.x, WAP, MIDP 2.0 and MIDP 1.0, KnowNow Live Server.
The Client: A large
player in the Mobile Loyalty and Gaming domain in USA. The
client offers the industry's first Mobile Loyalty and Community
Service (MLCS) platform that provides solutions for building
customer loyalty, reducing churn and creating new revenue
streams.
The Challenge: The main
challenge for this project was to propose, design and implement
a cost-effective solution for the MLCS. This required development
of platform that would support an event-driven model and
could be accessed from mobile phones (J2ME, BREW, WAP),
the Web, interactive television, PDA's and other devices.
The platform had to be highly scalable and would work as
a real-time system.
The Solution: Impetus
prepared the architecture and design for the platform and
the connector. Impetus developed all the components on the
server side and connector in J2ME, MIDP2.0 and MIDP 1.0,
BREW 2.x.
The offshore team also managed the communication with all
third parties involved in the project for different kind
of issues that surfaced during the integration.
The Benefits: Impetus
developed components to interface with the Live Server so
that wireless traffic is regulated and performance is optimized.
Also, in future this component will allow replacing the
Live Server with any other Event Routing Component. Impetus
team also developed a single J2ME connector of size within
the acceptable range, supporting a number of APIs and following
protocols - HTTP, HTTPS, socket, SSL for communication.
