The Client:
A leading provider of wireless solutions. They have
solutions that instantly deliver the information people
require through its RSS technology, serving enterprises,
online businesses, and end-users.
The Challenge: The two
key components of the product are Live Server and Live Connectors.
Impetus is responsible for developing and maintaining Live
Connectors. The existing customers were using version 2.0
that was required to be upgraded to version 3.0 with more
features and functionalities.
This was client's first offshore development initiative.
For developing and maintaining Live Connectors, the client
needed a technically skilled team, proficient in various
languages and technologies.
The Solution: Impetus
put together a team of software engineers who studied
the architecture and technology used in the product.
Impetus India team started with the work on enhancements
to the existing version 2.0 of connectors. Along with
this, bug fixing and maintenance of version 2.0 was also
taken care of.
These enhancements were developed in various languages
like C++, ActiveX, JavaScript and Java, and apart from
these, the .Net connector was developed from scratch.
Besides writing the core connector in .Net, Impetus developed
connectors for smart devices too.
The Impetus team also started working on R&D, design,
implementation of two new products. These products provide
a range of software that helps enterprise corporate data
to be shared, transferred and audited in real-time using
the core connector technology of client.
Along with working on the main product line, Impetus
is responsible for providing professional services to
the client's customers on behalf of them. The entire design
of every product is well documented. Development of various
modules is in accordance with the design and requirements.
The Benefits: One
of the main reasons for client to go for offshore development
was the need of faster development and well documented
design and requirements. The offshore model helped fix
the issues overnight due to the time difference advantage;
and Impetus technical proficiency added tremendous value
to the client's products and solutions.
