Industry:
HealthCare
Technology: UNIX/Windows
2000/NT was the operating system for the server. For the
Web server and EJB server, BEA Web Logic or Orion was used.
The client is supported primarily on Microsoft Internet
Explorer 5.5 and above. Also, Sun Microsystems's Java Runtime
Environment (version 1.3.x) is used to run the application
server. Microsoft SQL Server 2000 is used as the RDBMS server.
The Client: The client
provides specialty pharmaceutical products and related services,
infusion therapy, and other ancillary healthcare services.
The Challenge: Some
of the basic requirements of the project are: scalability,
reliability, maintainability, multiple interfaces, as specified
by the client, and a better User Interface.
The Solution: Impetus
designed an Internet based system for the application. A
dedicated team of 8 members offshore and 1 engineer onsite
developed the application following the same validations
as specified by the client.
JavaScript was used to validate data such as valid dates,
valid types and valid data field length. Business logic
level validation takes place within the application, and
the data is checked to see if it complies with the business
rules. Database Level validation ensured that no duplicate
records exist in the database and there are no records that
violate data-consistency.
The Benefits: Impetus
suggested the use of Impetus' own reporting tool, Intellicus
for reporting needs that could fulfill the requirements
more competently and economically. The use of Intellicus
for e-procurement application offered a huge value addition
to the client.
Salient features of the product include:
- Application Security
- Authentication
- Authorization and access control
- Encryption
- Audit Logs
