The Client: The client has created an advance mobile advertising solution, which enables the customers to present a rich media experience to their consumers. The consumers can listen to audio, view video, and offer RSS data feed through mobile. The dynamic nature of application allows viewing and downloading the new content as per the user's requirement.

1. Brew Client for the Content Display
The Challenges:
The client needed a platform for the mobile content display. The complexity was to support the variety of mobile handsets, operators, and BREW versions. Another challenge was to detect the current activities on mobile and act accordingly so that user does not feel any obstruction on it. The client also needed to take care of the memory footprints of the device to store the large content.
The Solution: Impetus designed and developed the platform called Brew Client for the content display. It enables the user to view the news, listen to the audio content, and watch the videos on the mobile handset, by downloading it from the server. The client uses the dynamic UI control to parse the content and delivers it to the user. The content storage and retrieval is the core of this platform and has to be managed very efficiently. The client code had to be designed in such a way that very less or no porting effort is required for shifting it from different platforms, mobile handsets, and carriers. Also the solution had to be developed such that it passes all the requirements of NSTL’s True BREW Test (TBT).
Technical Highlights:
- Implementation of J2ME equivalent functionality in Brew.
- Use of Media APIs in Brew and playing media files through it.
- Complex data processing and storage on the handset.
- Client is highly configurable from server.
