iLabs showcased some of the latest trends in the Wireless Mobile Computing domain. They also demonstrated some very new, revolutionary, and futuristic Mobile Applications developed using emerging technologies such as BREW, Symbian, JAVA, J2ME, Windows Mobile 5.0, etc.
An introductory session on the latest and emerging technologies like Windows Mobile 5.0, BREW, Symbian, and J2ME was also conducted for this enthusiastic crowd.
Rachana Salgia, V.P. Engineering and R & D who is heading iLabs, quotes, “iLabs is responsible for exploring new technology domains like mobile, wireless, new media, speech, IPTV, and VOIP etc. The applications that were demonstrated today have been developed by the iLabs Team by applying leading edge technology concepts. These technologies are now being used across the globe for creating innovative applications and products worldwide, but are still not covered in detail in most academic courses. Sessions like the one we had today are an important means to broaden the horizons and perspectives of young students, and help them connect with the business needs and paradigms of today.”
iLabs has created internal groups that study individual technology areas and research on their potential, while also continually innovating on them. This model enables a lot of learning and interactions with other internal project groups in the company and provides them with current market insights. Technology enthusiasts in Indore will be looking forward to more sessions like this to get a glimpse of the new wave of technology and how it is expected to change their lives.
