At a press conference in the city today, the company disclosed its expansion plans, within and outside Indore and provided an update on the company's progress over the past one year.

Impetus has been seeing rapid growth across the country. Impetus has recently expanded its beachhead facility in Hyderabad to a 50-engineer capacity, and has grown its Noida facility to two centers with a potential to house 500 software engineers. In Indore, the company is exploring plans to set up a 2500-engineer state-of-the-art facility in the first phase of construction of its own campus - a final decision on this is likely soon. Impetus is also in talks with the government authorities with regard to acquiring a significant amount of space in the proposed IT Park coming up in Indore.

Impetus has been on an aggressive recruitment drive and has doubled its headcount over the past year to exceed 700 employees. Continuing on this growth curve, Impetus is all set to take the employee count to over 1000 by the end of this year.

Speaking to the media, Praveen Kankariya, CEO, Impetus Technologies said, "Impetus has been seeing rapid growth - we expect a 70-80 percent increase in our topline this fiscal. We have with us some of the best talent in the industry and we are looking at further strengthening our management team over the coming months."

Over the past year the company has had over a dozen new client wins in emerging domains such as Mobile Gaming, Internet Advertising, Digital Media, Quality Consulting, and Financial Data products.

"Indore has been instrumental in Impetus' growth. The talent that the city offers is undoubtedly amongst the best in the country. I am proud to see the potential in the city, and am glad that Impetus has managed to scale to this size in the city. But we are scratching the surface. I wish we had managed to keep all our growth in the city itself for the sake of the city. I sincerely hope that the city will be able to take serious advantage of the boom that is happening elsewhere in the country. We will always have many options to expand outside, but Indore is very dear to us and we are emotionally bonded to this city", Praveen added.

Praveen also announced a number of new initiatives that Impetus will be starting. As part of its corporate social responsibility initiative, Impetus will be working with an NGO in Indore, helping over 200 underprivileged children with access to books, stationery and computers. Going forward the company plans to work with more such NGOs and provide assistance in kind and through its innovative initiatives. The company has lined up many such ideas but plans to roll them out in a phased manner.
