Praveen Kankariya
(Chief Executive Officer)

Praveen founded Impetus, in India, in the year 1991, and Impetus Technologies Inc., in U.S.A., in the year 1996. Having started Impetus as a products company, he has been the driving force behind the company's focus on product design and development, providing vision and direction to the company through its evolution and growth. With over 17 years of experience in developing large distributed systems, Praveen has been involved in the conceptualization, design, and architecture of several cutting-edge software products.

Praveen has a keen sense of business, and an in-depth understanding of technology. His ability to comprehend future market trends and emerging technology subjects complements his philosophy of delivering high value and exceeding client expectations.

He was one of the first employees of Scientific Computing Associates' Linda parallel processing product group, and has implemented the Linda kernel on several parallel architectures. While working with 3M Corporation, he designed and developed a distributed version of the Sage field service scheduler for 24x7 business critical operations. He has also co-founded a service supply chain optimization software company- Servigistics, in Atlanta.

Praveen was awarded a Masters degree in Computer Science from the Michigan State University and holds a Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering from S.G.S.I.T.S., India.

Jerry Malec
(President)

Jerry is a seasoned executive in the software and technology area. His General Manager and CEO level experiences at Checkmate Electronics, IBM and Apple Computer served to position him as a leader in the systems, software and systems integration service marketing arena. Later in Jerry's career he served on various public boards that have successfully developed a "best of breed" profile in the software and implementation services area. He completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in business at Wayne State University and University of Michigan respectively.

Serving as the President of Impetus, Jerry focuses on the development, satisfaction and expansion of client relationships for offshore services. As software companies seek partnerships with established, quality partners, Jerry's organization serves as the primary point for understanding their requirements and providing the delivery systems that meet and exceed client expectations.

Pankaj Mittal
(Senior VP- Engineering & Chief Technology Officer)

Pankaj has to his credit a long successful track record in managing, architecting, designing, implementing, and delivering cutting edge software products and application frameworks. He has worked on a variety of technology initiatives for product development, and has been a part of hundreds of releases of more than 40 product launches in his 15-year long career.

Having joined Impetus in the year 1992, Pankaj has since been responsible for handling the offshore operations while also defining and implementing company’s technology strategy. He has been instrumental in the growth of the company to over 750 employees, managing multiple projects, and mentoring the R&D effort for building innovative software tools and components. He has played a key role in developing the company’s intellectual property and applying the same to add more value to the client deliverables. Pankaj’s offshore team enables and supports business growth by managing client expectations from the technology and delivery perspectives.

Pankaj has the astute ability to figure out the product definition with respect to the technology, and at the same time, map the product to the evolving requirements of the market. He can be credited to having the vision, confidence and foresight in identifying emerging product technology and research areas for Impetus. His determination and persistence in incubating new technology ideas has been a major factor in the success of Impetus’s offshore services, and its own product divisions.

Pankaj holds a graduate degree in Computer Science & Engineering and an MBA degree in Marketing from the University of Indore, India.

Anand Raman
(VP - Business Development)

Anand Ramasubramanian has more than 12 years of experience in the software industry. He joined Impetus in the year 1995 as a Senior Sales Executive, and currently heads international marketing and business development.

At Impetus, Anand has been responsible for increasing business for the company's offshore product services. He has played a significant role in winning major accounts for the company, while also managing client relationships over long-term assignments. He has helped set up the business development team and its processes, works on the company's marketing campaigns, and also serves as a mentor for new inductees in the US office.

With over ten years of Impetus experience, Anand has been instrumental in developing and maintaining a steady stream of new clients to the organization. He not only provides the primary selling thrust in the western USA for Impetus, but also offers presales support for the US sales team spread all over North America. He also successfully manages client expectations, by providing the interface between the client and the offshore Impetus engineering team, all the while favorably influencing customer satisfaction.

Anand has a Bachelors degree in Mathematics and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Indore, India.

Rachana Salgia
(VP - Engineering, Research & Development)

Rachana is a veteran in offshore software product development with a track record of over 12 years of repeated success in managing and executing large and complex projects. She joined Impetus in 1994 as a Software Engineer and has grown in the ranks to be a Vice President with the company today. She has significantly contributed to the growth of the company’s offshore business by enhancing client confidence through understanding of their requirements and technology needs.

Her principal role includes managing new innovations and technology explorations, creating IP for Impetus, demystifying emerging technology areas, providing the direction and focus for R&D initiatives, helping new projects with consultation on optimal technology utilization, and actively supporting technical pre-sales activities. Her responsibilities also include managing multiple projects, right from their kick-off stage, and ensuring that the client experiences tangible and visible offshore success and value.

Rachana has been a major contributor to some of the biggest clients that Impetus has worked with, both in terms of her technical contributions, as well as by helping manage client expectations. In fact, she kicked off the Impetus foray into offshore services by becoming the first offshore team member for the company, for its first client. Her strong project management skills complement her technical expertise in architecting distributed enterprise applications and products, on both Microsoft and Java platforms.

Rachana holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Indore, India.

Rajeeva Gupta
(VP - Engineering)

Rajeeva carries with him over 20 years of experience in the field of software development, having worked both in India as well as overseas. At Impetus, Rajeeva is responsible for managing high quality product deliveries within all OPD engagements and further enabling engineering growth by continuously enhancing delivery capabilities.

He has a splendid career graph, and an equally shinning educational background. He holds a B.E. (Hons.) degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani and a M.S. degree in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York. Over the years, Rajeeva has amassed a very rich experience with some very well known and reputed IT organizations across the globe. Prior to joining Impetus Technologies, his last assignment was as Executive Director – R&D for a multi national Software Development firm based in India.

Rajeeva has been playing a pivotal role in the development and roll out of multiple products to international markets. His expertise covers product development, project management, quality management, and systems engineering. At Impetus, Rajeeva works actively with clients across all phases of the Product Development LifeCycle – providing critical inputs right from conceptualization, and guiding the product development effort through various stages. He also ensures successful product implementation, roll out and support for Impetus’ clients across all verticals. His offshore team aims to consistently exceed expectations, meet client deadlines, while delivering superior value and helping the clients get to their respective markets, faster.

Sanjeev Agrawal
(VP - Operations)

Sanjeev joined Impetus in 1993, first as a Sales person, and then moved on to handling Administration, Finance and Operations. With a rich experience of over 13 years in these domains, Sanjeev has been instrumental to the growth of the organization. He has vast expertise in managing infrastructure, compliance, government-related and other such critical issues for Impetus. He has worked with various external entities including STPI, Customs, Excise, Tax Authorities, Government Bodies, Banks and Financial Institutions, Partners and Vendors – and he has handled all these associations with sophistication and panache.

Sanjeev has made significant contributions to the set up, facilities and communication infrastructure of Impetus, across the multiple distributed offices that Impetus has. In his capacity as VP-Operations, he handles critical strategic issues, structuring, budgets and financial planning. He also manages finance as a function, including negotiations, investments and company expenses at the macro level. He works with clients for offshore operations and financial management and ensures 100% client delight on all counts. Simultaneously, he also ensures that all internal stakeholders are happy and satisfied with respect to the company facilities, policies and operational transactions.

Sanjeev holds a graduate degree in Computer Engineering and a Marketing Management degree from the University of Indore, India.

Sanjay Sahani
(AVP - Strategic Planning)

A man of many accomplishments, Sanjay brings a rich experience of over 19 years to the Impetus Management team. During various stages of his career, he has been involved in various aspects of software design, development and implementation. He has worked on setting up Quality Systems (based on ISO-9000 and SEI-CMM / CMMi Standards), and Process Improvement Initiatives throughout his illustrious career. He brings with him vast exposure in product, project and relationship management. He has lead many teams in complex technology domains including Operating Systems, Software Development Tools, Compilers, SCADA, Real-Time systems, networks and protocols.

Sanjay’s expertise lies in furthering and complementing the strategic vision that Impetus has evolved over the years. Having worked with multiple clients across the world, including USA, Europe, Japan and Asia, Sanjay has a very advanced understanding of the client perspective and their need for optimal technology solutions. He firmly believes in the need for innovation as the mantra for success in the days to come, and is working towards blending emerging ideas with the dynamic business requirements of our technologically advanced client base. His other responsibilities include benchmarking against best practices, and undertaking steps for overall system improvement.

Dr. Nitin K. Agarwal
(AVP - Product Strategy)

Dr. Nitin K. Agarwal is a scholar with a very high degree of academic achievements. Nitin is an expert in Supply Chain Management and has contributed vastly in the domain over 18 years of his illustrious career.

Nitin has numerous publications to his credit, taught at top management institutions in the world and consulted at organizations both in India and abroad to bring change in their supply chain management practices. 

At Impetus, Nitin is responsible for developing product strategy for several products being worked on by the company. He is also responsible for looking after the product management function for clients in the supply chain vertical.

His previous assignment was with Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore, wherein he was the Associate Professor and was responsible for teaching courses in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Software Development Management and Business Models for E-commerce and Project Management. Nitin has also worked with many renowned organizations in the USA before taking the teaching position in IIM, Indore.

Nitin holds a M.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT, Mumbai, an MS in Operations Research from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Ph.D. in Operations Research from North Carolina State University at Raleigh.

Rakesh Gupta
(Director - Engineering)

Rakesh has over thirteen years of IT industry experience. He synergizes the right blend of technical and management skills to provide requisite direction to the various accounts and teams that he manages. At Impetus, his primary responsibility is to provide engineering leadership to multiple product development teams.

He brings on-board vast experience of initiating, setting and executing long-term offshore relationships for multiple customers. Rakesh's first exposure to the world of the software development was during his Master's - this is where he started with the development of engineering applications using Microsoft technologies. From then on he continued to design and build products and applications in different verticals such as CRM, HR, KMS, Financial, Travel using Microsoft and Java technology platforms.

Rakesh holds a Bachelors of Technology degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and an MS from the University of Buffalo, New York.

Shoba Chetty
(Director - Human Resources)

Shoba brings with her over 12 years of experience in the HR function. She has vast experience of HR in IT organizations, and is well versed with both HR Strategy and Operations. Shoba manages all the HR functions at Impetus, both operationally, while also bringing in a vital overall strategic perspective.

With an enviable career graph and a substantial experience in all aspects of human resource management, Shoba brings in maturity and a clear understanding of the criticality of HR. She has worked on all areas of HR, including Performance Management, Training & Development, Compensation Management, Organization Design & Diagnostics, Recruitment and Resource Management. Her deep knowledge of human capital management and people insights make her adequately positioned to enhance this function at Impetus. Working on creating and maintaining our culture of technology focus, respect for people and innovation approach, Shoba and her team continue to work on adding more employee friendly policies, practices and processes, while also ensuring timely implementation. Recruiting and nurturing the right talent has always been our philosophy and her department is enabling Impetus maintain this core focus.  

Prior to joining Impetus Technologies, Shoba was working with Xansa (I) Ltd., Noida as Associate V.P– HR.  She holds B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering and an M.B.A in HRM. She is also currently pursuing a Senior Management Program from IIM, Kolkata.
