• Lead customer technical presentations, demonstrations and new product evaluations
• Define and present Big Data implementation architectures and project blueprints for customers and partners
• Develop use case demonstrations and proofs of concept in collaboration with sales, customers and Impetus labs & development teams
• Lead technical responses to RFI/RFP
• Maintain highest level of technical and market knowledge; create thought leadership through writing, user group presentations and community involvement
• Act as customer and partner advocate for project success and best practices

Technical:

• Extensive experience architecting OLTP/OLAP databases
• Cloud, Java, Machine Learning/Text mining, Search, Distributed computing, Linux, J2EE
• Experience with very large data repositories (terabyte scale or larger)
• Hands-on experience with the Hadoop stack (e.g. MapReduce, Sqoop, Pig, Hive, Hbase, Flume)
• Experience with full Software Development Lifecycle methodologies, Agile and Product Development
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design
• Previous experience with high-scale or distributed RDBMS (Teradata, Netezza, Greenplum, Aster Data, Vertica)
• Competent SQL skills for multiple platforms

Non-Technical:

• Ability to articulate key messages clearly and explain technical concepts to a semi-technical audience
• Experience in giving (pre) sales presentations to all levels of enterprise decision makers

Meet with top tier IT and/or business management of a variety of industries to gather requirements pertaining to their data storage and retrieval and analytics requirements to optimize business operations at all levels. Evaluate prospective client's existing business, operations, technology, current data storage and analytic capabilities in order to provide solutions and prepare responses to request for proposals pertaining to big data analytic requirements on premises and the Cloud. Identify key requirements and provide solutions for clients utilizing best practices. Defend proposals and respond to client request for additional information. Prepare Statement of Work (SOW - the roadmap detailing development). Participate in contract negotiations. Hand off SOW to the development staff. Brief the development team on the scope of the project, objectives and time frame. Monitor complete development life cycle to ensure it comports with client expectations and contractual obligations as set forth and detailed in the SOW. Monitor industry trends in order to recommend modifications and enhancements to ensure employer's products and services remain competitive and incorporate latest technology, practices and market intelligence. Recommend improved materials to support distribution of employer's products and services. Prepare and deliver technical presentations detailing products and or services to prospective customers.

Job Requirements:
Requires a Master’s Degree in Software Enterprise Mgmt. or Electronics Engineering and 1 year of experience. In lieu of, will accept a Bachelor's Degree in Software Enterprise Mgmt. or Electronics Engineering and 5 years of experience, or any suitable combination of education, training or experience. No less than a Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of experience is acceptable. Experience can be progressive.

• Design/ Architected and implemented complex projects dealing with the considerable data size (GB/ PB) and with high complexity.
• Sound knowledge of various Architectural concepts (Multi-tenancy, SOA, SCA etc) and capable of identifying and incorporating various NFR’s (performance, scalability, monitoring etc)
• Technological evangelization, sharp sense of communication.
• Good in database principles, SQL, and experience working with large databases (Oracle/ MySQL/ DB2).
• Hands on experience in scripting languages like perl, shell would be an added advantage.
• Sound knowledge about the clustered deployment Architecture and should be capable of providing deployment solutions based on customer needs.
• Sound knowledge about the Hardware (CPU, memory, disk, network, Firewalls etc)
• Should have worked on open source products and also contributed towards it.
• Exposure to complete SDLC and PDLC.
• Out of box thinker and not just limited to the work done in the projects.
• Capable of working as an individual contributor and within team too.
• Excellent communication skills, a can-do attitude, Strong problem solving skills
• Experience in working in ODC model and capable of presenting the Design and Architecture to CTO’s, CEO’s at onsite

  • - Indexing solutions using solr/ lucene or any custom solution
  • - Knowledge/ experience in writing M/R (Map Reduce) jobs.
  • - Knowledge/ experience in any of the NoSQL/ Graph databases (Cassandra/ MongoDB/ HBase/CouchDB/ Neo4J etc)
  • - Cloud based deployments
• Knowledge about the analytics using Mahout/ NLP/ NLTK/ R would be an added advantage

Role & Responsibilities

• Anticipate on technological evolutions.
• Coach the technical team in the development of the technical architecture.
• Ensure the technical directions and choices.
• Design/ Architect/ Implement various solutions arising out of the large data processing (GB’s/ PB’s) over various NoSQL, Hadoop and MPP based products.
• Driving various Architecture and design calls with bigdata customers.
• Working with offshore team and providing guidance on implementation details.
• Conducting sessions/ writing whitepapers/ Case Studies pertaining to BigData
• Responsible for Timely and quality deliveries.
• Fulfill organization responsibilities – Sharing knowledge and experience within the other groups in the org., conducting various technical sessions and trainings

• In a consulting environment meet with client IT and user management in the life and health insurance industries.
• Primary focus is to represent employer in acquiring new projects by preparing and defending responses to requests for proposals pertaining to development of Big Data, Software as Service, Business Intelligence, Analytics, Data Warehousing and Web Based computer solutions.
• Evaluate user requirements and develop specifications. Prepare technical presentations on all aspects of the projects to prospective and existing clients.
• Negotiate the terms of each new project and enter into business agreements.
• Participate in developing SOWs (Scope of Work).
• Once project is accepted resource the requirements, allocate work to project team members, schedule, track the project progress and monitor to ensure projects adherence to the Service Level Agreement, SOW and client expectations.
• Projects may include applications development, systems integration and infrastructure management. Throughout the project act as principal liaison with client to ensure satisfaction with delivery of services as well as to mine account for new opportunities and identify opportunities for cross selling and up selling.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously. Provide regular reports, articulate business value, manage expectations, participate in client visits in order to increase customer satisfaction.
